Holtain Ltd (Crosswell, Pembrokeshire, Wales)

Holtain instruments are manufactured in Wales and are synonymous with the Harpenden range — the stadiometers, anthropometers, infantometers, and skinfold calipers that have been cited in thousands of published studies since the mid-20th century. The Harpenden instruments were originally developed for the Harpenden Growth Study, one of the landmark longitudinal growth studies in the history of pediatric medicine. The Holtain Tanner/Whitehouse Skinfold Caliper, developed by James Tanner and R.H. Whitehouse, remains the reference standard for body composition assessment worldwide.
